How I Use Notion to Actually Stay Organized (Without Overcomplicating My Life)
Share
Let’s be honest—most of us don’t need another planner.
We’ve tried that.
New notebooks.
New apps.
New “this will fix everything” systems.
And somehow… we still end up with:
- Notes in one place
- Tasks in another
- Ideas floating in our head
- And no real system holding it all together
That’s exactly why I started using Notion.
Not to make my life more complicated—but to finally have one place for everything.
What Notion Actually Became for Me
At first, I thought Notion was just another productivity tool.
But once I started using it intentionally, it became:
✔ My planner
✔ My brain dump space
✔ My content hub
✔ My life organizer
All in one place.
No switching between apps.
No “where did I write that down?” moments.
The Way I Use It (Simple, Not Fancy)
I don’t use Notion to create some over-designed, aesthetic dashboard that looks good but doesn’t get used.
I use it to make my life easier.
Here’s what I keep inside my main setup:
1. A Weekly View of My Life
Not just work—everything.
- Appointments
- Tasks
- Priorities
- Personal things I can’t forget
This keeps me grounded in reality, not just “what I wish I could get done.”
2. A Running Task List (That Actually Gets Used)
Instead of writing tasks everywhere, I keep one main list and:
- Tag what’s important
- Filter what I need to see
- Focus on what matters this week
No overwhelm. Just visibility.
3. A “Put It Here So I Don’t Forget” Space
This might be my favorite part.
Anytime I think of something:
- Idea
- Reminder
- Random thought
It goes here.
Not in my head.
Not in five different apps.
Just one place.
4. A Simple Content + Life System
Because life doesn’t separate itself into neat categories.
So, I don’t either.
I can:
- Plan content
- Track ideas
- Keep personal notes
…all without switching platforms.
Why This Actually Works
It’s not because Notion is magical.
It’s because it removes friction.
You stop:
- Rewriting the same things
- Losing track of what matters
- Starting over every week
And you start:
- Seeing your life clearly
- Making better decisions
- Following through more consistently
If You’ve Been Curious About Notion
Don’t overthink it.
You don’t need:
- A complicated setup
- A perfect dashboard
- Hours of tutorials
You just need a starting point.

Try This Today (Keep It Simple)
If you want to test it out, start with just this.
Notion has a free version, so you can try this without committing to anything or overthinking your setup.
Create ONE page and add:
- A short task list
- A place for notes
- Your top 3 priorities
That’s it.
Use it for a few days and see how it feels.
The Goal Isn’t Perfection
It’s clarity.
It’s having a place where your life makes sense when you look at it.
And once you have that?
Everything else gets easier to manage.
